Green Tee Apparel Gets The Slice Girls Thumbs Up
While browsing the net for womens golf apparel Angelina Bogie stumbled upon Green Tee Apparel and when all the other Slice Girls found out about these hot womens golf apparel there was a stampede to see who could get in there first and get themselves decked out in Green Tee fashion. Green Tee was founded by some fine looking golf girls - here's the inside scoop:
Liz Doan and Tiffany Tran often struggled with finding the perfect balance between style, function, and performance when it came to golf apparel. As an alternative, they purchased contemporary clothing, added their individual flare, integrated some useful features, and Green Tee Apparel was born! Inspired to provide innovative golf gear with fresh and fashionable designs, Liz and Tiffany put their brains together...and the rest is history.
Liz Doan | Co-Founder, Operations & Finance
Within 24 hours of holding a club and whacking that dimpled white ball for the first time, Liz was suited with a new set of clubs, a bag, a pair of shoes, and a series of golf lessons. Challenged with a rare connective tissue disorder, all physical activities that Liz once enjoyed became more difficult. Despite her disability, she was determined to learn and play golf for the love of the game.

In 1999, Liz began feeling her muscle strength oddly decreasing and observed the proliferation of unidentified skin rashes. After five grueling years of medical poking and prodding, she was diagnosed with dermatomyositis. Dermatomyositis is a progressive connective tissue disorder characterized by inflammatory and degenerative changes of
the muscles and skin. Although the exact cause of dermatomyositis is yet to be discovered, it is thought to be an autoimmune disorder causing physical symptoms similar to rheumatoid arthritis. The disorder is rare, with a prevalence of one to ten cases per million in adults.
Liz was challenged to cope with her physical limitations and to discover new ways of continuing an active life. Golf was her new found passion. She went from barely being able to physically sustain nine holes of golf to playing a full 18 holes without having her play mates roll her off the green! She continues to struggle through her ongoing challenges of dermatomyositis, while sharing with other patients how she stays positive, focused, and healthy with her mean game of golf. With perseverance and determination to overcome her medical challenges, Liz took her passion for golf and fashion to Green Tee Apparel.
Tiffany Tran | Co-Founder, Sales & Marketing
Don't let her 4'11" stature fool you. Tiffany can drive her ball far down the fairway, challenging most beef cakes off the tee. Diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 28, Tiffany's courage, strength, and determination makes her a Mighty Mouse both on and off the course.

It seemed inconceivable that Tiffany would have cancer when only 2% of women diagnosed are in the same age and health range. In May 2005, Tiffany was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and life suddenly veered off on a challenging road. Five months of chemotherapy, eight weeks of daily radiation therapy, and multiple surgeries left her without energy to get through the day. She was fighting for her life and those things that brought joy to life like playing golf and cruising on her motorcycle had to be placed on the back burner. Now in remission, Tiffany is back on the course and still shoots under 100! Her strength is back and is most noticeable when her golf ball rockets off the tee and straight down the fairway.
Tiffany is the same ball of fire that she was prior to having cancer, but with even more vitality, enthusiasm, and a determination to live life to the fullest. Tiffany's vision for the future includes focusing much of her time volunteering for cancer events as well as relating with other young cancer patients. She hopes to coordinate functions with Green Tee Apparel and cancer organizations to increase awareness and contribute to finding a cure against this deadly battle. Incorporating her passion for golf, fashion, and her physique, Tiffany is inspired to create innovative collections for Green Tee Apparel and provide alternative clothing for golfers of all sizes, styles, and ages...thus the inspiration for our petite line.
