Phil McCracken Golf Movie

This weeks rules of golf video question comes from Mr. Phil McCracken who writes: “I was out playing with some homies last week when one of them clearly hit a ball into a water hazard and then tried to hit a provisional. I knew something was wrong but I didn’t know the exact ruling so couldn’t say anything."

Thanks Phil, this is a common rule abused by mainly amateurs. You can’t play a provisional because you think your ball might be lost in a water hazard. If you do, you HAVE to play that ball and you’ve got yourself a one shot penalty. Penelope Penalty brings the hammer down hard on people like that.
