Maria Sharaoverar Rules of Golf Video

Hey guys, today we have another interesting rules question from Maria Shara-ovapar who writes: “I was playing my first round of golf and I topped the ball so badly it hopped up in the air. I was so angry, I took a swing at it in disgust when it popped up. My friend Serena said because I had taken a swing at it I should count it as a stroke. Is that true?

Thanks for your email Maria. A swing in anger is not an intention to hit the ball. However, if you had hit the ball accidentally, you would have been penalized two strokes. Perhaps you should learn to control your anger on the course yeah?!
