Tiger Ready for Slam in 2008?
The great one seems to be preparing for a Wood-inducing 2008. They say the stats don’t lie and other than the fact he only won one major, his 2007 was reaching his god-like performance in 2000:
- He finished with a 67.79 scoring average, the same as in 2000
- He won 7 from 16, his 2nd highest winning percentage after last years 8 from 15
- He’s won four of his last five starts and those four by a combined 20 shots, including scoring records in consecutive weeks
Nobody thought 2000 could ever be topped but it now seems highly likely Tigers best is still yet to come. Steve Williams recently revealed that Tiger “hasn’t hit a practice ball since the British Open, with Tiger confirming “hey, there was no need”, admitting not surpisingly, that his fathers death last year was a factor in his performances. He’s now winning 28% of the time he tee’s it up, compared to Phils 9%, Vijays 8% and Ernie’s 6%. The numbers are simply amazing no matter which way you look at it and the scary thing is he seems to be getting better.
