Experienced players take for granted making a tee time, but many new golfers don’t have a clue how to book a tee time. Here’s a basic guide for the golf newbie on how to book a tee time.

Depending on the course you’re playing, you might have to book weeks ahead, but for most courses, usually one week ahead is enough, maybe less during weekdays.

Call the course and give them the following details:
- The day you want to play
- The approximate time you want to play and how many players

Some things to note:
- Most courses won’t allow single player bookings
- Some courses operate on split tee times, so you may find tee times are only available, for example, between 6:30 and 8:30, then again after 11:00a.m.
- Expect to be paired up with other players if you are booking for two or three players
- Busy courses require a credit card guarantee
