GOODBYE!

UPDATE: WE'VE MOVED! However, most of our golf videos are still being transferred so although most of the sites features and links have been restored, many of our videos will not be available for viewing for a while.

We should have them all back online in the next 24 hours...Please accept our apologies, via way of two hot chicks wearing Victoria's Secret lingerie. They kinda look a little Korean, and Koreans are dominating on the LPGA so you're still good to go if anybody catches you sneekin a peek for a little longer than you should...

Goodbye old, hello new...

As we now have over 1,000 golf videos we're moving to bigger and faster host...

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS! They don't work and will take you to the Internet black hole, from which there is no return. You can check out all our blog posts, or visit some of our sponsors on the right side...

We should be back up and running in the next few hours....

If you can't wait, and need to see some golf videos and hot golf babes, check us out on myspace or youtube

Peace out...

Tosser Goosen Says Tiger Faked It

What a tosser Goosen is...we've never liked him...although the media can distort and twist things so we may end up eating our words...

From Foxsports.com

Perhaps the news that Tiger Woods will miss the rest of the 2008 season will finally convince Retief Goosen that his knee injury is genuine.
TIGER OUT FOR SEASON
Tiger Woods not only won the U.S. Open, he apparently did so with a double stress fracture in his tibia and a knee that will require reconstructive ACL surgery. Now that all the facts are out, what do you think about Tiger's performance, the PGA Tour's ability to survive the season without him and whether Woods will still be able to break Jack's major record?

Goosen, a two-time U.S. Open champion himself, seemed to accuse Woods of faking the extent of the injury when he winced in pain and limped around Torrey Pines on his way to a third U.S. Open title and 14th major championship.

"I think so," Goosen said Tuesday when asked if Woods was exaggerating the severity of the injury, according to a report on the Web site of The London Times. "It just seemed that when he hit a bad shot his knee was in pain and on his good shots he wasn't in pain. You see when he made the putts and he went down on his knees and was shouting, 'Yeah,' his knee wasn't sore.

"Nobody really knows if he was just showing off or if he was really injured. I believe if he was really injured, he would not have played."

On Wednesday, Woods announced that he would have season-ending reconstructive ACL surgery. The world's No. 1 golfer also revealed that he has a double stress fracture in his left tibia. Woods initially tore his ACL while running near his Orlando home following last summer's British Open. He found out about the stress fractures a month ago, as he was attempting to prepare for the Memorial Tournament. The stress fractures were caused by his rehabilitation from an arthroscopic procedure on the knee he underwent two days after The Masters.

When pressed about his inflammatory comments, Goosen seemed to soften his tone, but did not retract what he said.

"I was being light-hearted," Goosen said, according to the Times. "No one but Tiger himself knows how badly hurt he was. But if he was really badly hurt, he would have withdrawn, wouldn't he?"

Woods' swing coach, Hank Haney, described the moment when Woods first learned of the stress fractures, and doctors told Woods the preferred treatment for the stress fractures was three weeks on crutches and three weeks of inactivity.

"Tiger looked at the doctor and said, 'I'm playing in the U.S. Open, and I'm going to win.' And then he started putting on his shoes," Haney said. "He looked at me and said, 'Come on, Hank. We'll just putt today."'

Goosen closed with 4-under 67 on Sunday at Torrey Pines, pulling within six shots of Woods and his playoff foe, Rocco Mediate, and finishing in a tie for 14th.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Tiger Out for Rest of 2008 Season

Here's the statement from his website...

Doctors assure Woods that long-term prognosis is very good with rehabilitation and training

Just days after winning the 2008 U.S. Open in a dramatic sudden-death playoff, Tiger Woods announced that he will be forced to undergo reconstructive Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) surgery on his left knee and will miss the remainder of the PGA TOUR season.

In addition to the knee surgery, Woods will require the time off to rehabilitate a double stress fracture of his left tibia that was discovered last month just prior to the Memorial Tournament. The stress fractures were attributed to Woods' intense rehabilitation and preparations for the U.S. Open. Doctors have assured Woods that the stress fractures will heal with time.

"I know much was made of my knee throughout the last week, and it was important to me that I disclose my condition publicly at an appropriate time. I wanted to be very respectful of the USGA and their incredibly hard work, and make sure the focus was on the U.S. Open," said Woods. "Now, it is clear that the right thing to do is to listen to my doctors, follow through with this surgery, and focus my attention on rehabilitating my knee."

A date for the knee surgery, as well as the necessary rehabilitation schedule, has not yet been determined.

"While I am obviously disappointed to have to miss the remainder of the season, I have to do the right thing for my long-term health and look forward to returning to competitive golf when my doctors agree that my knee is sufficiently healthy," said Woods. "My doctors assure me with the proper rehabilitation and training, the knee will be strong and there will be no long-term effects."

Woods originally ruptured the ACL in 2007 following The Open Championship when he was running at his home in Orlando. At that point, he elected to not have surgery, and instead attempted to play through the pain. Following the injury, Woods went on to win five of the next six events he entered, including the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, the PGA Championship, the BMW Championship, the TOUR Championship and the Target World Challenge, while also finishing second at the Deutsche Bank Championship. He carried that streak over into 2008, winning his first four events of the year, the Buick Invitational, the Dubai Desert Classic, WGC-Accenture Match Play and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

In the fall of 2007, Woods decided to forego a number of playing opportunities to allow the knee time to heal in preparation for the 2008 season. He still experienced pain early in 2008, however, and in an effort to allow him to play through the remainder of the season, elected to have arthroscopic surgery immediately following the Masters to clean out cartilage damage. The cartilage damage in fact developed as a result of the ACL injury, and Woods' hope was that the arthroscopic surgery would get him through the remainder of the season and allow him to delay the ACL surgery until after the season.

"My rehabilitation schedule after the arthroscopic surgery was designed with the goal of returning to play at the Memorial, but the stress fractures that were discovered just prior to the tournament unfortunately prevented me from participating and had a huge impact on the timing for my return," said Woods. "I was determined though, to do everything and anything in my power to play in the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, which is a course that is close to where I grew up and holds many special memories for me. Although I will miss the rest of the 2008 season, I'm thrilled with the fact that last week was such a special tournament."

Tiger Woods, ranked number one in the world on the Official World Golf Ranking and leading the 2008 PGA Tour Money Leaders list, has 65 PGA TOUR victories to his credit, including 14 major championships, ranking him third all-time in wins, just eight behind Jack Nicklaus and 17 behind the all-time leader Sam Snead. This past week, Woods also celebrated his 500th week as the number one ranked player in the world, a position he first attained eleven years ago on June 15, 1997.

"I would like to thank my fans and partners for their continual support and can assure everyone that I will be as dedicated to rehabilitating my knee as I am in all other aspects of my career," said Woods

Updates on Woods' surgical and rehabilitation timelines will be provided at a later date once a schedule has been finalized.

Tiger Woods Epic US Open

In yet another display of unbelievable, incredible and just bloody brilliant golf, Tiger Woods took down a gritty Rocco Mediate on the first extra hole after 18 holes wasn't enough. IN what is being described as perhaps his best ever victory by both the media and himself, Tiger proved he's better than the rest, even when he's nowhere near his best. His knee injury is worrying and how it's going to effect the rest of his career and his pursuit of Jacks 18 majors is yet to be uncovered but the general opinion is that it's much worse than originally thought.

Slice Girl and extra golf babe Halle Birdie is down with Tiger Woods and she has compiled a collection of Tiger Woods US Open videos that is equaled in greatness perhaps only by Tiger Woods himself. Check out all the best Golf Video News and for US Open Golf video of the playoff between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate CLICK HERE.

US Open Dream Threesomes

The USGA has released the pairings for the US Open at Torrey Pines, much to the debate of the media. The pairings see the top three ranked players in the world, Woods, Mickelson and Scott paired together, and the top 12 players in the world are in four groups. Woods and Mickelson have only been paired once together at the US Open, in 1999 when Payne Stewart won with Mickelson and Woods 2nd and 3rd.

Mike Davis, the senior director of rules and competition for the USGA was quoted as saying ""The heck with what TV wants. Let's do what we want for the championship." Funny Golf Videos Added

We've added a few more funny golf videos to our collection of golf videos. These videos are from the boys over at comedygolf.com, who happen to sell the funniest golf balls on the face of the earth. Here's their spiel from their website:

After a hard fought round with golfing buddy/mortgage broker Ed Bloom, Ed insisted on showing Mike a novelty golf ball idea that he wanted an opinion on. Mike's limited social skills found him telling Ed it was,…. "Cute at best, but not really funny." Ed got mad and announced, "This is hard. You couldn’t do this!" What Ed had forgotten in his moment of frustration was that Mike is a comedian and did this kind of thing for a living. That next week, Mike showed up with prototypes for three of the packages on this site. Out of this 19th hole drinking crucible, came the Comedy Golf products you see today.

Els, Kim Withdrw From St Jude

No surprises here, Ernie Els has again withdrawn from a tournament last minute, this time from the Stanford St Jude on Monday afternoon. This leaves a free run for last years winner Woody Austin in Match 1 of Super 6 Fantasy Golf.

Anthony Kim also WD'd after a couple of poor finishes since his Wachovia virgin victory. This means you have two free picks for this weeks Fantasy golf! Booya.

Woods Does a Runner

Tiger Woods played his first round since the Masters, well nearly. Tiger played a practice round on Torrey Pines south course with Steve Williams and coach Hank Haney. He played in 3 hours 15 minutes (all golfers take note) with no spectators or media but upon reaching the 18th, where he laid up to 100 yards, he spotted some media dudes, picked up his ball and did a runner around the back of the clubhouse.

Have you checked out all our Tiger Woods videos yet? His latest interview is featured on our home page golf video and as usual, you can watch all the latest and not so latest Tiger Woods golf video by clicking here

Perry Gets Ryder Cup Premature Satisfaction

All the news is Kenny Perry's desire and public announcement to play in the Ryder Cup., but as some fella mentioned, it's a long way away and maybe his decision to skip the US Open is a little over zealous. The boys over at ESPN discuss it:

Bob Harig, golf contributor, ESPN.com: FICTION.

It is admirable that Kenny Perry has put the Ryder Cup above all else this year. Perhaps if others wanted to be part of the team so much, the outcome for the United States would be different.

Still, skipping a major championship does not seem right -- especially when that major championship could help you achieve your goal. Next week's U.S. Open at Torrey Pines will have a purse of $7 million-plus, and since the new points criteria is based on money earned, that is an important fact. Not to mention that points are doubled at the majors.

Aside from all of that, it is hard to swallow the notion that a player who now has 10 PGA Tour victories would not want to take a crack at the U.S. Open when he is playing so well. A victory at the Open would be remembered longer than making a Ryder Cup team.

Perry certainly views his decision to skip qualifying as a smart move. He built his schedule with the idea that he would not be in the U.S. Open. He is playing venues and tournaments he likes.

But what if his game slips in the next two months, and he falls to just outside the top eight spots? What if captain Paul Azinger is weighing his captain's picks between Perry and someone who played and competed well at the U.S. Open or British Open? The move might not look so good then.

Jason Sobel, golf writer, ESPN.com: FICTION.

I just don't get this one. Seems to me it's a bad decision on a few different levels. First off, Perry states it's his No. 1 goal to make the Ryder Cup team, so he can play in his home state of Kentucky later this year. Hey, nothing wrong with that. But where's the logic in skipping the Open, a major championship which doles out double points to potential candidates? I know he doesn't want to play a 36-hole qualifier and hasn't fared well in previous attempts at Torrey Pines, but isn't it worth giving it a shot? Secondly, if I'm U.S. captain Paul Azinger, I want players who are battle-tested and have competed in the year's biggest pressure cookers. Perry didn't qualify for the Masters, shot a final-round 80 in the last pairing of the Players and won't play the Open. Not including his victory at the Memorial, which is one of the more prestigious regular-season events on the schedule, most of Perry's damage this year will have come against nonelite fields. Like Jack Nicklaus stated on Sunday, I "understand" the theory behind Perry's latest decision; I just don't agree with it. The careers of professional golfers are judged largely on what they accomplish in major championships. For Perry, a guy who has been a solid performer throughout his tenure and is one of the hottest golfers on the planet right now, the opportunity to compete in his country's national championship should have instilled a little desire to succeed on the grand stage rather than providing a week of rest in between tour stops in Memphis and Hartford.

Ron Sirak, executive editor, Golf World: FACT.
I'm not sure it is a smart move, but it is a move that makes sense on many levels. Let's be honest, the 47-year-old Perry has little chance of winning the U.S. Open at muscled-up Torrey Pines next week, so skipping it is not that great of a sacrifice. But he is in a great position to make the Ryder Cup, and playing for his country at Valhalla in his home state of Kentucky would be major thrill for this good old boy.

The real question to ask, however, is how effective Perry will be on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. Captain Paul Azinger wants to avoid the biennial drubbing the Americans have been taking from the Europeans for the last two decades. I'm thinking Perry will have to play his way onto the team and not rely on Azinger making him a captain's pick. That being the harsh reality, Perry is doing the right thing by focusing on getting the necessary points to be an automatic selection.

We feel that hey, Perry can do whatever he wants and all credit to him but as Jack said, it was never a goal for him to get on the Ryder Cup, granted he never had to worry about that, but let us ask you this: How many major championships has jack won? 18 correct! Now what is Jacks Ryder Cup ryder cup record? How many Ryder Cups did jack play and and how many winning sides was he on? What's Tigers Ryder Cup record? That's right, unless you are a walking golf statistician, nobody cares about the Ryder Cup at the end of your career and you can bet the two greatest players ever to play the game - Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, won't be losing much sleep if they never play in another Ryder Cup again.

Miller Calls Out TIger

We missed this one, as it happened a few weeks back but interesting reading about one of golfs most hated and loved commentators.

From the Globe and Mail

Tiger Woods doesn't get knocked often in the golf media, but NBC's Johnny Miller launched a couple of shots off the tee yesterday. With his usual candour and edge, Miller said Woods made a mistake and was perhaps presumptuous to speculate in January that winning golf's Grand Slam was "easily within reach."

"I'm not taking a slam at Tiger," said Miller, during a conference call to publicize NBC's coverage of The Players Championship at the Sawgrass golf course in Florida. "But I think the Grand Slam is something you start thinking about on the first of August, after you've won the three other ones."

Woods, recovering from an arthroscopic knee operation, isn't competing at Sawgrass. Given Woods's poor results at the tournament, Miller says he picked the perfect time to undergo surgery. "Tiger Woods hasn't exactly lit in up here," he said. "He's had five rounds of 75 in the last four years. There's no other championship I know where he's shot five 75s."

Miller recited Woods's finishes since winning the event in 2001 – consistently out of the top 10, tied for 53rd in 2005 and tied for 37th last year. "For Tiger, that's as bad as you can possibly do," he said. "So, I can see why his knee needed to be operated on."

Miller was challenged by his NBC colleagues for arguing TPC, because of its strong field and fat purse, is equal to or ahead of the PGA Championship in terms of prestige, behind the Masters, U.S. Open and British Open.

"It's a clear fifth in my book," Roger Maltbie said. "It has the best field of probably any event played throughout in entire year...But that said, it's not one of the big four, and I just don't see how that's going to change."

Said Gary Koch: "This whole fifth major stuff gets a little tiresome. I think it's pretty clear cut. We've got four major championships – and The Players Championship.

Miller reached for his 2-iron.

"All I'm saying is that if you had a player survey... there probably would be a reasonable amount of guys on Tour who would rank [TPC] either a clear fourth or tied for fourth. You definitely would get some votes for that, I promise you."

"I doubt it," Maltbie said.

And what's Lacey Underall up to these days? Check out this article from last year:

Actress Cindy Morgan set out to hold a fundraiser at a Chicago area golf club, but now faces lawsuits for breach of contract.
Reporter Steve Schmadeke of the Chicago Tribuner reports that "Caddyshack" siren Lacey Underall, played by Chicago native Cindy Morgan, reunited some of the cast of "Caddyshack" for a charity golf tournament that would raise money for military families. Things didn't go as planned.

Schmadeke claims the 2006 tournament "raised no money." Held in July 2006 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort and Willow Crest Golf Club in west suburban Oak Brook, the corporate sponsored affair was to have "Caddyshack" cast members and sports celebrities like Jim McMahon play with attendees. What was to happen was a purported $250,000 expected in funds rasied for the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund, a trust that benefits families of National Guard troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Schmadeke interviewed Morgan who claimed she "got in over her head and trusted a professional planner who set a budget for the event that was about triple what it should have been."

"We didn't come out with a profit, what we did was raise awareness," she said, adding that the only reimbursement she received was for a cell phone bill. "I know it's in the red. I feel like a sitting duck. If somebody did something wrong, I'll freakin' kill them myself." Now the hotel and golf course filed a lawsuit claiming Morgan's non-profit corporation still owes nearly $100,000. Actor Hamilton Mitchell, Motormouth in the film, sued Morgan in a California court for failing to pay his appearance fee. Morgan placed some of the blame for the failed event on misfiled non profit paperwork.

Wie 7 Back, Finds Overseas Competition Easier

MUNICH, Germany -- Michelle Wie shot a 2-under 70 in the third round of the Ladies German Open on Saturday to fall seven strokes behind leader Amy Yang, who had a course record 63.

Wie came into the day at 7-under, and birdied the third and seventh holes. But the 18-year-old Hawaiian had a bogey on No. 9 before finishing up with a birdie on the 11th to sit at 9-under 207.

Yang, an 18-year-old South Korean living in Orlando, Fla., was at 16-under after her lowest round as a pro.

"I just hit really good today. And my putting was really good -- much better than normal," said the Ladies European Tour money leader, who has lived in Orlando since February.

For the third consecutive day, Wie said she was disappointed by her showing as a sponsor's invitee to the Golfpark Gut Haeusern course, northwest of Munich.

"It was very frustrating, I just couldn't get anything going. I hit a couple irons a little harder than I thought. I left a lot out there. I'm not playing up to my potential. And I just really have to shoot well tomorrow," she said.

Wie did collect two birdies on par-5s after complaining after the first two rounds that she had not taken advantage of those holes.

"I hit the fairway on three and made a birdie on 11 but along with the other par-5, I left a lot out there. Tomorrow I just have to leave none out there."

Anne-Lise Caudal of France (67) and Rebecca Brewerton of Wales (68) were tied for second at 11 under, and second-round leader Lora Fairclough of England was a further shot adrift along with Joanne Mills of Australia and Louise Stahle of Sweden.

Indis Says No To Golfing Guru

The Sikh American Legal Defence and Education Fund (SALDEF), the oldest Sikh civil rights’ and advocacy organisation in the US, has asked premium golfing magazine, Golf Digest, to apologize for depicting Sikhism’s fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, as "Golfing Guru" in its May edition.

The storm was kicked up after an American Sikh, Harjit Singh Sandhar, noted the depiction while on flight to Washington DC from Tulsa. He and his cousin, Sartaj Singh reported the matter to SALDEF along with golf videos.

"The image appeared along with an article — the Golf Guru — on the magazine’s 66th page. It appeared at the beginning of the article, which answers readers questions on golf," SALDEF said, adding, "The image, at first glance, appears to be a south Asian bearded, turbaned man with golfing gloves and stick. But the image is a picture of Guru Arjan Dev and no golf videos can be found of him."

In a letter to the Golf Digest publisher, Thomas Blair, SALDEF said, "The decision to use the picture shows cultural and religious ignorance of Golf Digest staff and executives." SALDEF chairman, Manjit Singh, said they had brought the matter to the magazine’s notice, about a month back along with the golf swing videos.

"Since we got no response, SALDEF decided to raise the matter within the community," he said, adding, "Since the mistake has been brought to the editor’s notice, it should be corrected."

Sikh Council on Religion and Education (SCORE) has also condemned the depiction and described it as blasphemous.

"The way Golf Digest doctored the image is clearly blasphemous and shows they are insensitive and don't watch golf videos. They should have first determined who Guru Arjan Dev is before using his image," SCORE chairman, Rajwant Singh, said.

Golf Digest is self-proclaimed number one publication in its genre. Published by Advance publications, the magazine is a generalist golf publication covering recreational and competitive golf.

Vijay Singh - My Life as a Bouncer

Singh recalls the days he mixed golf with a job as a doorman in an Edinburgh nightclub

HIS IS an amazing and unlikely journey. No great player in the long and diverse history of golf has a life story comparable with that of Vijay Singh, a so-far 45-year itinerary even the most imaginative travel agent could never have come up with. golf videos.

Born on the distant "from everywhere" Pacific island of Fiji, as a youngster Singh crawled – 'Shawshank Redemption-style' – through a stinking pipe that provided a daily shortcut from his home to the humble course where his enduring fascination with the game began. Since then, his remarkable career has evolved from a low-paying job teaching golf to oil executives in the remote setting of the Borneo jungle through a total of 55 tournament wins (including a record 19 since he turned 40) on the world's main tours to three major championship victories, the number one spot on the world rankings and something in excess of $60m in prize money and amazing golf videos.

Along the way, Singh has made more than a few trips to Scotland, both in rags and riches. Indeed, he still remembers fondly the first time he visited the land that gave golf to the world. As an inexperienced and impecunious professional as well as golf babes videos and sexy golf babe photos expert, the Fijian spent about five weeks in and around Edinburgh as he prepared for what would be an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to qualify for the 1987 Open Championship at Muirfield.

"I remember flying from Malaysia to Scotland," he says with a smile. "My aim was to pre-qualify for the Open at Luffness. I stayed with a friend in Edinburgh – I had met him in Borneo, where he was working for Shell – and played the course every day for about two weeks. By the time I failed to qualify, I knew the course inside out and I loved the golf videos at golfuncut.com

"I loved Scotland right away, even if it was a bit cold. But I got used to it. I worked as a bouncer on the door of a nightclub on Lothian Road. I wouldn't say there was a lot of job satisfaction, but I was earning money. And it was certainly an interesting insight into Scottish culture and sexy golf babe videos.

"The women were the hardest ones to handle. When they fight, goodness gracious me! I knew how to deal with the men, but the women… you never knew what they were going to do. They were pretty rough, especially with a few drinks inside them. I could handle myself though. I had done some martial arts and I was in tune with what was going on. Only occasionally did I get involved in scraps, but never alone. There were always at least two of us watching golf videos.

"The worst part of the job was telling people they couldn't come in because they were too drunk. It's tough to always be the bad guy. I remember walking to my car – I had an old jalopy – at two in the morning and worrying about getting attacked. My car was fine if it started right away, but it often didn't. So it could get a bit scary, wondering if a gang of guys were waiting for me. I'd always jump in quickly."

For all that his perilous financial state meant he had to work for his living, Singh played a lot of golf during his time in Scotland.

"I practised at a few courses in Edinburgh and I went down to East Lothian and played North Berwick, Gullane and Dunbar," he recalls. "It was tough though. I wasn't well known and it was hard to get a tee-time. I liked the links golf a lot. It was similar to that I had experienced in Australia. The terrain and the shots you have to hit are a lot alike as well as making golf videos.

"I really fell in love with Luffness. It was a tough little course, especially in the wind. I liked Glasgow Gailes and Western Gailes is a great course. I played there and was always amazed at how, when I'd arrive in the middle of the day, the place would be empty. I guess the members didn't want anyone else on their course.

"I had another good friend in Aberdeen. I was up there often. I played Murcar, Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay. I never made it to Dornoch though golf videos.

"So I have a lot of affection for Scotland. I lived there, worked there and played golf there. Then, at the end of '87 I went to Africa, got my tour card and was off and running."

For all that his early brush with golf at the seaside gave the young Singh an appreciation for the game as it was originally played and into golf videos and sexy golf babes, that experience has not translated into victory at the Open Championship. He has been close more than once, but the Claret Jug has so far eluded him.

"I'm so disappointed with my overall record in the Open," he admits. "Every time I missed the cut, I couldn't believe how badly I played. I should have won at St Andrews in 1995 when John Daly won. I had so many chances down the stretch. I missed so many putts and made so many mistakes it was criminal.

"St Andrews can be like that though. You have to play smart and make some putts. And you need the right bounce at the right time. But it is so easy to keep knocking your approach to 40 feet or so then three-putting. I did that at the 16th on the last day in '95. Then I three-putted from the Valley of Sin at the last golf videos.

"I think I have a better chance of winning now than I did then. I have more idea about the game now, especially links golf. I certainly have more control of the ball than I have ever had."

Singh's failure to win the game's oldest championship hasn't been through lack of effort, of course. Few if any professionals have spent more time beating balls on the range than the former Masters and USPGA champion.

"Hitting so many balls has helped me," he contends. "It has given me so much knowledge, especially from the bad shots. I learn from them and watching online golf videos clips. How well you score in this game is determined more by how good your bad shots are than by how good your good ones turn out. Having said that, I don't hit as many these days, other than when I am working on something new. Once I have it down, I don't need to stand there and hit balls all day.

"I've hit so many because I never had a coach growing up. I was self taught and learned by my own mistakes. And that's why I stayed out there until I got it right. I really didn't have an option. How else was I going to get better without a coach looking at me all the time? I didn't have anyone to tell me what I as doing wrong. So where I came from has a lot do with my practice habits. Nowadays I am like everyone else, I get instant feedback from golf video and the like."

Ah, but there we must disagree. Given where he has come from and where he has reached, it is hard to imagine that Vijay Singh has ever been like everyone else.
