How to Tell if clubs are fake golf video series

Unless you buy golf clubs from a reputable golf shop there’s a chance that you might get sold a set of fakes that have fallen off the back of a truck somewhere in mainland China.

For an experienced golfer its’ generally pretty easy to tell, but for the newbie it’s a little hard. The first thing to look for is the finish of the logo and any markings. If you look at the clubs closely, you can see the paint and markings are not clean, sometimes with clear plastic coating. Sometimes the assembly is also noticeably rough.

If the clubs look perfect, then the next thing to check is the weight, which is somewhat difficult if you haven’t used many clubs before or don’t have anything to compare to. The weight will be noticeably heavier than the real deals.

The last, and sure bet they’re a fake is lack of serial number, which all the major club manufacturers have on each of their clubs. The clubs should also come with a guarantee card. If in doubt, ask a Pro to have a look at them before you buy if possible.

If you’re a new player you’ll find it difficult to notice the difference both physically and in performance of fake clubs, but like anything else in life, you get what you pay for.
