The Skins game has become a popular television tournament during the off season for four of the hottest players in golf, although the last few years the skins game has lost popularity because it can no longer attract the big name players. Here’s how it goes. The low score on a hole wins, but if two tie, all tie, and the skin is “carried over” to the next hole. Skins can get very exciting especially if you are playing with 4 players because there can often be many holes that are “halved” and one hole then becomes worth as many holes as have been halved. Lets say you’re playing for $5 a skin or hole. If five holes are halved then the 6th hole will be worth $30. A popular variation is to make the first 6 holes worth say $5, the next 6 holes $10, and the final 6 holes $15.
